Europe in my region – completion Event
By last station Skiathos completed events "Europe in my region 'by the Region of Thessaly. The proposal of Schuman considered the beginning of the current European Union.
The situation for today's anniversary is not easy for Europe. This does not mean that we should stop to defend. As highlighted recently by the president Juncker, in the era of globalization we we Europeans face three modern invitations: To maintain our European way of life. To guarantee the security and peace. To manage migration. In Greece invitations are undoubtedly magnified because of the continuing deep economic crisis.
In this context we should note that if the return of the country in development, after half a decade of continuous recession, is the bet that we must put to ourselves all, the rational utilization of the operational programs is the only way to win this bet.
We, Thessaly Region strive for it. Our goal is the new Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, the new NSRF ie, multiply the positive impact that created the previous NSRF which completed successfully and follow up on the strategic plan for development of Thessaly the next five years.
The possibility of funding actions related to improving the lives of citizens and services owed by the State to provide them, boosting employment and creating new jobs, investing in entrepreneurship and innovation, urban development and the improvement of life in the countryside are the aims of the Regional Authority for the best possible use of European resources available in our region.
To demonstrate the new ESPA an effective development tool good preparation is required, Proper planning and excellent cooperation of all stakeholders, to ensure and this time high absorption of the funds will provide added value to the development effort of Thessaly.
I'm sure and this time we will succeed, as in the NSRF finalized at the end of last year and handled an extremely large number of projects and actions, namely:
• 44 transport infrastructure projects – budget 253.752.035 €
• 70 education projects – budget 96.244.490 €
• 45 enhancement works tourist and cultural product – budget 23.779.445 €
• 54 health projects and social infrastructure – budget 44.877.844 €
• 96 environmental projects – budget 86.001.300 €
• 2107 private investment projects and technical assistance programs – budget 159.968.308 €
• Financial JESSICA tool – Budget 20,000,000 €
