H European Commission Representation in Greece will participate in the 84th Thessaloniki International Fair this year focusing on the three food safety, protecting producers and consumers and sustainable development.
The objective of participation is to promote European Policy on Security and Protection of Agricultural Products in the EU, and the EU quality schemes, such as the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI).
Specifically, in the open space in front of the booth 10 Exhibition, exhibited a total of more than 100 different Greek products under EU quality scheme. The products will come from the central Macedonia (to 07, 08 & 15/09), Continent (to 09/09), West Macedonia (to 10/09), eastern. Macedonia and Thrace (to 11/09), Crete (to 12/09), west Greece (to 13/09), and Thessaly (14/09) and will include, among others: Halkidiki green olive oil, crunchy cherries Rodochori, Konservolia Arta, cheese Metsovone and Florina peppers. In the afternoon each day, a distinguished cook will prepare live recipes based on these products.
The stall door will open Saturday 7 September 2019 and will remain open to visitors throughout the duration of exposure, during the hours of operation. O Deputy Director General of the European Commission Communication and proposed Greek Commissioner Margaritis Schinas will visit our booth, accompanied by the Head of European Commission Representation in Greece George Markopouliotis.
On Sunday 8 September 2019 to 19:30 Representation organizes cocktail party in the courtyard of the pavilion with live music, cool drinks and delicacies… #forNexermeTiTromEEE.
In the operation of the Delegation to the stand 84or TIF involving the European Information Centers (EDIC) Halkidiki, City of Athens, Public Benefit Corporation Municipality of Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Epirus, Western Macedonia, Xanthi, Komotini, Crete, Patras and Thessaly. The European Information Centers funded by the European Commission through its Delegation in Greece.
