Annual General Meeting of European Information Centers in Prague
The Region of Thessaly, through the Center for European Information Region Thessaly (EUROPE DIRECT Thessaly), He took part in the Annual General Meeting 2019 (AGM 2019) all European Information Center of the EU Member States was held in Prague on 9-11 October 2019.
The Center of European Information Europe Direct Thessaly Region is a member of the Information Point Europe Direct Network. It is one of the main tools of the European Union (EU) to inform European citizens about the EU and its priorities in particular for the development strategy "Europe 2020.
The overall objective center Europe Direct is that citizens have easy access to information and the opportunity to make known and exchange their views, in all areas of EU activities, particularly, in the areas that impact on citizens' daily lives.

Thematic sections AGM 2019 They focused on the introduction and discussion of new priorities of EU policy and communication strategy on the occasion of the establishment of the new European Commission after the European elections in May and the implementation at local level.

More specifically, the first day of the meeting was "A new beginning for the European Union" and focused on strategies EU priorities for the period 2020-2024 aiming civic commitment to these. He placed particular emphasis on issues related to climate change, Social Policy, migration issues, open and based on trade law rules.
The second day of the meeting was dedicated to the European Communication Office of the Republic and analyzed such issues of non-conscription forces to counter misinformation (fake news) and the promotion of training for the European Union at all levels of education. Parallel workshops were held with a view)Finding effective ways of exploiting the potential of EDIC constitute a) benchmarks including regional networks (Examples Emilia Romagna region, Central/Southern Central/Southeastern region, Bulgaria, Haute-de-France Region) and b) cooperation centers among partners on issues such as mobilizing social networks to highlight the European Union issues, Best practices for cooperation with the local press, Media and Close cooperation with local authorities and representatives of social organizations.
