OR Address on the State of the European Union (State of the Union – SOTEU) is one of the most important annual moments for the European Union. Each year, The President of the European Commission addresses the European Parliament, presenting the Union's priorities for the coming year, the most important challenges facing Europe and the initiatives the European Commission intends to undertake.

Her Wednesday 16 September 2026, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will deliver this year's State of the Union Address, presenting its vision for the course of Europe and the key initiatives and priorities for the next period.

The Speech will be broadcast live through the official online channels of the European Union.
