WiFi4EU | Free Wi-Fi connectivity for Europe
The European Commission wants to ensure free Wi-Fi connectivity for citizens and visitors in public places, such as parks, squares, public buildings, libraries, health centers and museums, everywhere in Europe through WiFi4EU.
Initiative WiFi4EU - Indicative roadmap
The budget of the program amounts to WiFi4EU 120 million. euro for the period 2017-2019 and will support the installation of modern Wi-Fi equipment in the social life centers.
Connectivity for the benefit of all means should not matter where you live or how much money you earn. So we are proposing today to equip every European village and every European city with free wireless internet access to major centers of public life by 2020.

Who will benefit;
All Europeans
The financing of WiFi4EU program will be distributed in a balanced way between the Member States, so that both residents and visitors thousands of communities throughout the EU can benefit from this at least 6.000-8.000 local communities by 2020.
Local public bodies
WiFi4EU The program will be open to public bodies, such as local authorities, libraries, health centres, Others. The costs of equipment and installation (Internet access points) They will be covered by the program, while the beneficiary will assume connectivity costs (subscription to web services) and maintenance of equipment 3 years at least.
Local authorities will be encouraged to develop and promote their own digital services in sectors such as eGovernment, e-health and e-tourism, etc., through specific intended use.
How to Apply for WiFi4EU;
Entry in WiFi4EU program done without paperwork, by a simple process that comprises e.g.. electronic applications, payments with coupons and mild monitoring requirements.
Projects will be selected during the submission queue. The project holders who apply for inclusion in the program should propose equipment areas are not offered like free wireless Wi-Fi connection from a public or private body.
