Open discussion on the durability of water at the 45th Panhellenic Book Festival of Thessaloniki

The Representation of the European Commission in Greece is organizing an open debate on the water resistance, the effects of the climate crisis and the necessary actions to ensure sufficient and quality water for citizens.

The event will take place on Sunday 21 June 2026 and time 20:30, under the 45th Panhellenic Book Festival of Thessaloniki, at New Beach of Thessaloniki (Statue of Alexander the Great).

The discussion will focus on the contemporary challenges facing water resources due to climate change, as well as the policies and initiatives developed at European and national level for their protection and sustainable management.

Water is one of the most important natural resources and ensuring its sufficiency and quality is directly linked to environmental protection, public health, agricultural production and sustainable development.

The event is open to the public and admission is free.
