"This time I vote! The importance of the European elections 2019 "
At 10 May 2019 held in Oichalia informative event on the occasion of the European elections 2019 with Title "This time I vote for ...", organized by the Thessaly Region and the Regional Development Fund of Thessaly, as part of the Center of European Information actions - «Europe Direct» Thessaly and as part of Europe Day, in collaboration with 1The Elementary School Oihalia, middle school and high school Oihalia.
The students, under the European program Etwinning, with Title: "Schools in Europe, an online magazine '', informed about the importance, the process of European elections and the functioning of the European Parliament. Reference was also made for the Europe Day which was on 9 May.
The member of the project team of the European Information Center of Europe Direct of the Region of Thessaly, Ms. Giourouki Zoi, referred to the possibility provided by the European Information Center Europe Direct, to all citizens, to obtain information, advice and answers to questions about the institutions, legislation, policies and of EU programs and briefed on the activities of the Center for Community funding opportunities, and then stressed the importance of European elections.
O Mr. Stergiou Andreas, Professor of European Law at the University of Volos, informed students about the process of European elections and their relevance, to stimulate the awareness of young people to enhance their participation in elections.
At the end of the event, the Director of 1th Elementary School Oihalia, Ms Stauroula Patheka, thanked warmly all event participants and more specifically, the representative of the center Mr.. Giouroukos Life for the presentation of the program, Mr. Stergiou Andreas for his contribution to the event, the Director of 2th Elementary School Oihalia, Ms. Helen Tzavela, the Director of the Gymnasium Oihalia, Ms Melkidi Trigger-Lagou, the Director of School Oihalia, K. Kagiouli Demetrius and finally Professor of German school Ms. Vicki Sing for custody of the event.
The event was attended by students of classes V and VI of 1th Elementary School Oihalia, students of the respective classes of 2th Oihalia Elementary School and the High School students and high school Oihalia.
