UNDER PARTICIPATION IN EVENTS

8-10 May in Volos

"Europe Day"

successfully completed events for 'Europe Day' made from Volos 8-10 May. The region of Thessaly and the Regional Development Fund of Thessaly, within the framework of the actions of the European Information Center - "Europe Direct" of the Region of Thessaly in collaboration with the 30th Primary School of Volos, University of Thessaly, the Municipality of Volos, the World Association of Expatriate Magnets "The Society of Magnets", the Greek-League and the School Activities Office IP Magnesia Division, They held a series of events and activities to raise awareness and acquaintance of Volos students with the operation and impact of the European Union institutions in their daily lives.

Participating students and graduates have had the opportunity to learn about milestones such:

– May 1st, 15anniversary of EU enlargement large

– 9May, Europe Day (69 anniversary of the Schuman Declaration 1950)

– 26May, elections to the European Parliament

– 28May, 40the anniversary of the signing of the accession of Greece to the EEC .

Also, graduates of the school participated in experiential workshop about the process of elections. At the same time, opinions were gathered on the way the Union operates , ERASMUS for education programs and teacher exchanges- students and social programs .

The events framed prominent local people diaspora, as Nick Prantzos, Anthony Greco, Costas Popotas , Dimitris Tzanos and city personalities, like Mary Tsaknaki – Gavala.
