Successfully completed the conference and the contest NASA Space Apps Challenge Larissa organized by the institution biomimicry Greek Research and Innovation in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute and the MSC program in Management Science and Technology Athens University of Economics. The conference and the contest was held under the auspices and support of the Region of Thessaly, Region Thessaly Regional Development Fund and the Europe Direct program Thessaly, supporting the Mayoralty of Culture and Science Municipality of Larissa, University of Thessaly and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The NASA Space Apps Challenge Larissa competition was held in cooperation with the bodies Aephoria, Be Loved Web Design, Change your World, Creative Ideas, digital notion, EPEEK, Labattoir D.Thessalonikis, Fencing Club Thes / niki, Pangea, Kshekshrp, The Meraki People, Women Techmakers Greece, FETA Comics and with the advice of the Orion Group Communication.
Axiosimeioto fact constitutes the contribution of businesses from all over Greece, with gold sponsors NATIONAL BANK OF GREECE and the EUROPEAN RELIANCE SA, while dorothesia supported companies, Atlas Consulting, Coco-Mat, e-FOOD, THES-MILK COOPERATIVE, ESTATE Zafirakis, Mikel Coffee Company, Natural Mineral Water SAMARINA and Phaistos Printing.
This year the participation touched 22.000 citizens from 70 countries and 200 cities around the world worked together to develop solutions to some of the biggest challenges for the land, off using the NASA data.
The Panel refereed Assoc. Vassiliadis (Institute of Entrepreneurship), And. Stefanidis (Aephoria.net) and G. Profitilioti (cand. PhD NTUA) He highlighted the following three winning teams:

Members Group: Anastasios Gialamas, Miltiadis Alexis, Despina Floros, Constantine Gregory, Theodore Gregory.
Our solution is an application which with the help of the camera and the smartphone will display the UV index the user's location, in order to place the proper type sunscreen. The team hopes for a future with less sunburn and skin cancer.

The idea was implemented by two small children 11 & 13 years in cooperation with their parents. Namely Air Travelling concerns an application for smartphones that can be used by passengers and aircraft pilots and combines the GPS technology with crowdsourcing, namely uploading information from the public. Each time users spend over an area, They will receive a notification informing them about their location, as well as geological, culturally, climatically, and other items (posted by other users) depending on their interest criterion.

Passengers on flights near magnetic poles are exposed to high levels of radiation. The specific dose of irradiation has a significant effect on the human body and in combination with the modern lifestyles, Man becomes more vulnerable to health problems. The solution for reducing the radiation obtained from the human body comprising the creation of a database, which shows the radiation levels for each passenger monthly, and designing a costume antirads.
